About Erin:

I was born and raised in Greenup County, Kentucky, and now I live in Piketon, Ohio. Throughout my academic career, I have attended three universities: Marshall University, Capella University, and Walden University. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Walden University in 2023 and am currently working as a psychology trainee under the direct supervision of Dr. Matt Heiner, a licensed psychologist and clinical supervisor. I am actively accumulating my postdoctoral hours to fulfill the requirements set forth by the psychology boards to qualify for licensure as a psychologist. I have been a psychology assistant since 2009, providing counseling and testing services to children, teenagers, and adults under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist.

On a personal note, I have three children, three dogs, and a cat, and I cherish every moment with my family. I enjoy playing sports such as tennis, golf, and basketball, and I also love hiking and kayaking. Additionally, I play several musical instruments and enjoy participating in jam sessions. Life presents numerous challenges, complexities, and demands; however, it also offers significant rewards. I am both hopeful and appreciative to participate in my clients’ journeys as they endeavor to live their lives to the fullest!

Treatment Approach

My therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative, blending techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to meet the unique needs of each client. I believe that healing is not a “one size fits all” process; therefore, I don’t think a single approach works for everyone, but an eclectic approach is most helpful. I understand how important it is to feel supported as you navigate your journey. My goal is to create a nurturing environment that fosters growth, healing, and a touch of humor, so you can embrace a life that feels steadier, more connected, and genuinely your own.
